The fundamental principle of Erasmus+ student mobility is that the courses successfully completed abroad are granted full academic recognition by the home institution. This commitment is an essential requirement of ECHE obligations and the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) principles on transparency, quality and recognition.
At Kilis 7 Aralık University, academic recognition is ensured through a three-stage framework: before, during and afterthe mobility period.
1) Before Mobility: Pre-Approval
All courses to be taken abroad are prepared and approved through the Online Learning Agreement (OLA) within the Erasmus Without Paper (EWP) system. This pre-approval clarifies in advance which courses will be recognised, eliminating academic uncertainty.
2) During Mobility: Managing Changes
If changes occur at the host institution (e.g., timetable conflicts, cancelled courses, curriculum updates), students may modify their course list. In such cases, the “During the Mobility” section of the OLA is updated and re-approved by all parties, ensuring continuous recognition.
3) After Mobility: Recognition and Credit Transfer
After completing the mobility, the host university issues a Transcript of Records. The recognition process includes:
