Learning Agreement & OLA

This section explains the Learning Agreement (LA)—the official document that secures your course/study plan during Erasmus+ mobility—and its digital version, the Online Learning Agreement (OLA). At our university, all learning agreements are managed via OLA through EWP. This page provides access links, step-by-step guidance, and practical tips for common situations.

What is a Learning Agreement?

A Learning Agreement is an official document that defines the courses (or traineeship plan) to be followed during the mobility and is approved by the student, the sending institution, and the receiving institution. It is the key guarantee for smooth academic recognition upon return.

What is OLA and why do we use it?

OLA (Online Learning Agreement) enables you to prepare and approve your Learning Agreement digitally. With OLA:

  • course selection becomes faster and more transparent,
  • approvals and signatures are trackable online,
  • changes during mobility are easier to manage,
  • inter-institutional communication is standardised.

OLA process: Step-by-step

A) Before the Mobility

  1. Check the course catalogue and identify your options.
  2. Discuss course compatibility with your department/academic advisor.
  3. Complete the “Before the Mobility” section in OLA.
  4. Follow the approval flow: student approval → sending institution approval → receiving institution approval.

B) During the Mobility
5. If changes are needed, submit a request via the “During the Mobility” section.
6. The same approval flow applies to changes.
7. Complete changes as early as possible (delays may complicate academic recognition).

C) After the Mobility
8. Once the host institution issues the transcript/records of results, the recognition process begins.
9. Course recognition is finalised by checking consistency between the OLA/LA and the transcript.

Best practices (key tips)

  • Make sure course codes, titles, and ECTS are accurate.
  • Avoid timetable clashes and overlapping courses.
  • Prepare a list of backup courses to speed up approvals.
  • If changes occur, your course plan is not considered final until the OLA is updated and approved.
