Under the Erasmus+ KA171 staff mobility for teaching, our University hosted two academics from Al-Zaytoonah University, Jordan: Dr. Nibal Nabeel Nazza and Dr. Rasha Adnan Mohammad Mubaideen. Through their lectures and presentations, the visiting academics made a valuable contribution to our students’ learning.
In their lectures, the guests focused on the role of Jordanian universities and language centres in teaching Arabic to Turkish students. They shared detailed information on educational approaches in Jordan, language teaching methods and the opportunities available to international students. Assessing the global importance of Arabic today, they also highlighted its growing value for international relations, trade and academic research. These sessions allowed our students to see first-hand that Arabic is a strategic language not only regionally but also globally.
Another key topic of the lectures was the evolution of Arabic between tradition and modernity. Using examples, the academics explained the historical development of the language, the differences between classical and modern usage, and the transformation of Arabic in the digital age.
Our University continues its efforts to strengthen international academic cooperation and to offer students opportunities to engage with different cultures and perspectives. This Erasmus+ mobility was regarded as a fruitful experience both academically and culturally.
